Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A products that relax targeted muscles to soften lines and wrinkles. They're more alike than different — but the small distinctions in onset, diffusion, formulation, and unit pricing can matter for your specific goals. Here's how they compare at our North Miami and Palm Beach Gardens clinics.
| Feature | Botox | Dysport | Xeomin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Active ingredient | OnabotulinumtoxinA | AbobotulinumtoxinA | IncobotulinumtoxinA (no complexing proteins) |
| Aurelia price | $11.50 / unit | $4 / unit* | $11.25 / unit |
| Onset (first results) | 3–4 days | 2–3 days (fastest) | 3–4 days |
| Spread / diffusion | Moderate, precise | Wider spread — great for large areas | Moderate, precise |
| Best for | All areas; most studied & predictable | Forehead & larger zones | Patients with Botox resistance |
| Duration | 3–4 months | 3–4 months | 3–4 months |
*Dysport units are dosed differently — roughly 2.5–3 Dysport units equal 1 Botox unit, so total treatment cost is usually comparable. Prices shown are Aurelia Med Spa pricing and may change; confirmed at consultation.
So which should you choose?
Choose Botox if…
You want the most studied, predictable option, or you're treating delicate areas where precise, controlled placement matters most.
Choose Dysport if…
You're treating a larger area like the forehead and want faster onset and a softer, more diffuse spread across the muscle.
Choose Xeomin if…
You've developed resistance to Botox, or you prefer a pure formulation with no complexing proteins.
Honestly? For most patients, the injector matters more than the brand. Skilled, anatomically precise placement is what produces a natural, balanced result — and what prevents the frozen or heavy look. That's why every Aurelia treatment is performed by a senior provider, with our medical director recognized among the Top 100 Injectors in the USA.

Frequently asked questions.
Is Dysport cheaper than Botox?+
Per unit, yes — Dysport is about $4/unit at Aurelia versus $11.50/unit for Botox. But Dysport units are not equivalent to Botox units: roughly 2.5–3 Dysport units equal 1 Botox unit, so the total treatment cost is often similar. We always quote by the finished result, not the unit, so you know the real price up front.
Which lasts longer — Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin?+
All three last about 3–4 months on average. Longevity depends more on your metabolism, dose, and the muscle treated than on the brand. Patients who treat consistently sometimes find their results last progressively longer as the muscle weakens over time.
Why would I choose Xeomin?+
Xeomin is a 'naked' or purified neurotoxin with no complexing proteins. Because there are no extra proteins, some patients who have developed resistance (antibodies) to Botox respond better to Xeomin. It's also a great option for patients who prefer the purest available formulation.
How much does Botox cost in Florida overall?+
At Aurelia in North Miami and Palm Beach Gardens, Botox is $11.50/unit with a first-visit promo from $250. A typical forehead-and-frown treatment (30–50 units) runs roughly $350–$575; adding crow's feet adds 10–24 units. Cherry and Care Credit financing are available for larger treatment plans.
Can I switch between Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin?+
Yes. Many patients try more than one over time. Your Aurelia injector will recommend the best option based on your anatomy, treatment area, how quickly you want results, and your prior response. There's no harm in switching between appointments.
Who should perform my injections?+
Always a licensed, experienced injector. At Aurelia, treatments are performed by senior providers — our medical director is recognized among the Top 100 Injectors in the USA. Skilled placement matters far more to your result than which brand you choose.
