We assess your skin type and tone, sun-exposure history, medications, past treatments and goals, then map what is actually driving the concern — pigment, redness, texture, early laxity or a mix. Candidacy is confirmed in person: light-based IPL is best suited to lighter skin types, for example, so deeper tones may be steered toward melanin-safe options such as Morpheus8.
Preparation is simple, but it matters: consistent daily sunscreen, no tanning (we avoid IPL on actively tanned skin), and pausing retinoids or exfoliating acids only if — and for as long as — your provider advises. Never stop a prescribed medication on your own; your written pre-treatment instructions always come first.
Brown spots and redness often start with IPL Magic (typically 2–4 sessions, 4 weeks apart). Texture and early laxity may call for Fotona 4D or Morpheus8 (typically 3 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart), and deeper lines or scarring for Fotona CO₂ resurfacing (often a 1–3 session course). Precision microneedling with multivitamin infusion is a lower-downtime option for tone and texture.
Downtime depends on the plan: 1–3 days of mild redness after microneedling, 2–5 days after Morpheus8, 2–7 days after Fotona 4D and 2–10 days after CO₂, depending on depth. After IPL, spots darken and flake off over 5–10 days, with strict sun avoidance for 2 weeks. That's why we usually schedule IPL and Fotona 4D courses between October and April, and CO₂ between October and March.
Some change comes quickly — IPL results are typically visible in 1–2 weeks and Fotona 4D at about 2 weeks, peaking around 8–12 weeks. Morpheus8 and microneedling usually show at 4–6 weeks, and collagen keeps remodeling for months afterward (3–6 months after Morpheus8 and CO₂). Results are judged over months, not days.
Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen does the most work. Many patients add a monthly HydraFacial to keep skin clear and hydrated in Florida's sun and humidity, and an annual maintenance session after a Morpheus8 or CO₂ course (biannual after a microneedling series) — planned around your skin, not a sales calendar.

After IPL Magic, brown spots darken and flake off over 5–10 days. Cold plasma can also be used after CO₂ to help the skin recover.
When is the best time of year for laser treatments in Florida?+
We usually schedule IPL and Fotona 4D courses between October and April, and CO₂ courses between October and March, when UV is less intense and healing skin is easier to protect. Strict sun protection is required whatever the season — including 2 weeks of strict sun avoidance after each IPL session — and we avoid IPL on actively tanned skin.
