IPL Magic — BroadBand Light Photofacial

BroadBand Light is the gold-standard photofacial for clearing pigmentation, redness, and visible sun damage common in Florida residents — while triggering long-term skin rejuvenation.

How it works: BBL is a high-intensity, broad-spectrum visible-light platform — essentially the most advanced IPL on the market. Cut-off filters select wavelengths that target either melanin (for brown spots, freckles, sun damage) or hemoglobin (for redness, broken capillaries, rosacea flushing). The light is absorbed by these chromophores, which heat and fragment unwanted pigment or coagulate dilated vessels. The body then naturally clears the broken-down material over 5–10 days, leaving brighter, more even skin underneath.

What we treat: sun spots, age spots, brown freckles, melasma (carefully), rosacea redness, broken capillaries on the face and chest, post-inflammatory pigmentation, and an overall dull, uneven complexion. BBL also stimulates fibroblast activity, so it provides genuine anti-aging benefits beyond pigment clearance.

Best for Fitzpatrick I–III skin types; we screen carefully and may recommend an alternative for darker tones.

What to expect: 30–45 minute session. A cooled sapphire tip and rubber-band-snap sensation make it well tolerated without numbing. Brown spots typically darken visibly for the first 5–10 days before flaking off; redness improves immediately. Strict sun avoidance for 2 weeks after each session is required, and we usually schedule courses October through April. Most patients see strong results from 2–4 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart.
